What’s the Difference Between Indigo Soda CO₂ Cylinders?
Want to make your water sparkle with a local, compatible, and eco-friendly solution? Indigo Soda offers two types of CO₂ cylinders, each designed to work with a specific type of sparkling water machine. Here’s how to choose the right one for your setup.

Purple Cylinder — For Screw-In Machines
The purple cylinder is compatible with machines that use a screw-in system, also known as the twist system.
Compatible with:
- All sparkling water machines with a screw-in connection
- Including brands like SodaStream™, Aarke, Drinkmate, Ninja, and more
This type of cylinder screws directly into the machine. It’s the most common model on the market.
Turquoise Cylinder — For Clip-In (Quick Connect) Machines
The turquoise Easy Connect cylinder is a compatible alternative designed for SodaStream™ Quick Connect machines, also known as clip-in models.
Unlike the twist system, this one doesn’t require screwing. You simply insert the cylinder and clip it into place. This system is specific to some of SodaStream™’s newer models using the pink connector system (Pink System).
All Cylinders Are Refillable Across Canada
No matter which machine you use, you can exchange an empty cylinder from another brand (SodaStream™, Aarke, Drinkmate, etc.) for a compatible Indigo Soda CO₂ cylinder.
Our exchange locations are available in every Canadian province. Simply bring your empty cylinder to a participating location and leave with the Indigo Soda model that fits your sparkling water machine.
Choose a Bulle Plan and Save
Indigo Soda’s Bulle Plans make it easy to never run out of CO₂ at home:
