Frequently asked questions
Any questions about how to refill or use your CO2 cylinder?
Refer to our FAQ page for answers to frequently asked questions.
Use
Yes. If your machine uses a twist system (TR21-4 valve), you’ll need our purple twist-style cylinder. For Quick Connect machines (also known as the Pink System), use our turquoise Indigo Soda Easy Connect cylinder, made specifically for this mechanism.
Indigo Soda CO2 cylinders are weighed at our refilling stations to make sure that they contain the right amount of CO2 when they are packaged. Unfortunately, some cylinders may be defective. Although a rare occurrence, this can lead to a slow leak during storage or transportation. If that happens, return the cylinder to your exchange location.
This can happen when the cylinder’s main valve is defective. The spare valve opens and completely empties the cylinder.
The noise produced and the frost that appears on the cylinder can be surprising, but not dangerous. Bring the defective cylinder back to your exchange location.
Store CO2 cylinders away from direct sunlight at a temperature below 50°C.
- Check if the cylinder is empty. If so, use a new cylinder.
- Check whether the cylinder is correctly installed in its receptacle. If necessary, tighten it by hand.
- The cylinder may be too cold. Wait for it to reach room temperature.
- The drink may be too hot. Use a cooler liquid, the colder the better.
- The CO2 may not be mixing well with the drink. Shake the bottle and wait 10 seconds for the CO2 to mix with the liquid.
- Press your device’s trigger or carbonation button longer to release more CO2.
Check whether the cylinder is correctly installed in its receptacle. If necessary, tighten it by hand.
If you don’t get enough bubbles and you don’t hear a spray noise when you press your device’s trigger or carbonation button, your CO2 cylinder may be empty.
Don’t worry, this is totally normal and safe. The ice will melt, and your drink will be even colder and more refreshing!
You can press your device’s trigger or carbonation button for a shorter amount of time until ice stops appearing.
There is no single answer to this question. Although our 60-L cylinders can produce up to 60 L of carbonated water, how often you will need to refill your cylinder depends on the carbonation level you use.
If you are exchanging your CO2 cylinder more often than you would like, reduce the number of times you press your device’s carbonation button and don’t press it as long.
Indigo Soda CO2 cylinders are completely safe. They are made according to strict safety specifications in order to protect our customers. They are safe at virtually any altitude.
Our CO2 cylinders are specially equipped with a safety valve that releases CO2 safely in the unlikely event that pressure exceeds indicated levels.
Make sure you store your CO2 cylinders in a cool, dry environment. Keep out of direct sunlight. The cylinders should not be exposed to heat sources (e.g. a long time in the trunk of your car, or near a stove, oven, chimney, etc.).
The CO2 in the cylinder does not expire, but the cylinders are inspected and certified for quality assurance purposes.
We do not take returns or offer refunds on CO2 cylinders, but you can exchange empty cylinders for full ones. We are responsible for replacing items only if they are defective or damaged. We will cover return and related fees for exchanges due to a product defect.
